Girls Basketball

Girls Basketball Information

Fall Sessions are divided into two days and two groups. The fall sessions are for players who are not currently participating in a fall sport.

Tryouts are Nov. 6-8 (or once fall sport ends if in playoffs). A sports physical must be on file with the VP’s secretary before a player may try out. Be prepared and have these done ASAP.

Monday-9/18 @ 4:00-5:30 PM-new gym

Monday-9/25 @ 5:00-6:30 PM-old gym

Thursday-10/5 @ 3:15-5 PM-old gym

Thursday-10/12 @ 3:15-5 PM-old gym

 

Frosh/JV Girls/Anyone (optional open gym for varsity w/ shooting machine):

Girls Basketball Fundraising Campaign

Help us reach our campaign goal by sharing the video and site! 

The Oakdale Girls Basketball program is holding a Fundraising Challenge to help promote financial support for the girls’ program. The players put in significant time each week preparing for the upcoming season by bettering their basketball skills and physical conditioning and are very deserving of your support. The OHS Girls Basketball program appreciates any amount you can donate and thanks you in advance for your generous support!

This season the OHS Girls Basketball players are taking part in an intensive basketball training program including a fully developed and strength and conditioning program,  individual skill work, and development of offensive and defensive team strategies. Some of the needs your donation will contribute towards include tournament fees, summer league fees, and basketball equipment.

With your generous support, we can continue to further the development of the Oakdale Girls Basketball program!

We are excited to see our hard work pay off this upcoming season!

Misc. Information for Next Season

  • If you are interested in trying out for basketball this season, please contact Ms. Ford in the Girls PE Office.

  • Shoes and socks for season need to be school or neutral colors only: red, yellow, black, white, or gray.

  • Jersey number selection order is based off fall quarter GPA, summer participation, and experience seniority.

  • Participation in off-season practices and workouts does not guarantee a player a spot on a team or playing time during the regular season, but greatly improves her chances of making the team and gaining playing time by increasing her skill level.
